Due Wednesday:

Reply to this post:

Which beatitude is the most vital (necessary) to today's society and why?

For full credit, you must include the beatitude in your response enclosed in quotation marks, not have any grammar or spelling errors, and elaborate with examples with a minimum of three sentences.

Watch the video below to hopefully strengthen your understanding of the Beatitudes.

The first video's message video extends past the Beatitudes because Jesus didn't only come up with them at the Sermon on the Mount. We will talk about the next reading next week, but for now, enjoy.

The second is a beautiful rendition of what it might have been like when he spoke to the crowds for the first time. Remember, according to our notes, the people of the country were dealing with:
• a tyrannical military government • Rulers with absolute authority• Various persecutions • High taxes • Racial prejudice • SlaveryListening to his voice of beauty and power must have been the greatest experience known to humankind. His words of wisdom brought so much hope to so much evil.Watch the third... breathtaking.

How much do you all love me?

Since it's not fair that I did not see room 208 today due to the Burning of the Palms, there will be no test tomorrow. Instead, it will count for the third trimester and only cover new Chapter 9 information (to be listed at a later time).

Therefore, instead, you will have an open book quiz on your reading from yesterday (page 100).

Hope this relaxes you.

Also, bring your Beadel Bucks tomorrow. I will sell Homework Passes at $15 each and use it to drop one of your lowest classwork or homework grades.

The bigger test is preparing yourself for Jesus and for Lent. That's your homework for the next 40 days, one that cannot be

Your only homework for this evening is to read page 100 for tomorrow. Take special notice on the Beatitudes sections, trying to deternine the message and meaning befind each one. You do not need to memorize anything, but be very comfortable with the text prior to tomorrow's class.

Reply to this post by brainstorming some things you are thinking about giving up and things you are going to take on this Lenten season. This is due on Ash Wednesday.

For example:

For the next fory days,  I promise to give up ALL sweets. I am not going to try to make it easy by eliminating only one type of temptation. I'm going all in!

Additionally, I am going to add in the commitment of going to the gym five times a week to nurture the body God gave me and expected me to make healthy.

In honor of the near end to NASA's shuttle program, CNN condensed video from every shuttle launch into 133 seconds. It's pretty neat, yet also a sad time for our country since shuttle launches will cease for quite some time. You can read more about this here.

I've always been amazed at the space program and the miraculous feats of discovery beyond our planet. Take 132 seconds to enjoy the video below.

I'm so excited that you all had a fabulous time at today's retreat! I can't wait to talk ALL about it on Monday!

Enjoy your weekend, but first, here's a quick list of items to review for Tuesday's exam:

Hi Seventh grade!

I am so sorry to keep you all checking my site like crazy, but my hubby got me an IPAD for my birthday and I've been obsessed with it all night long! Don't worry about the poll because I don't have the questions saved here at home to access them and upload them to my site. Breathe!

In class tomorrow, you will have 20 minutes to finish the prayer books and then you will turn them in. Make sure you have the clear plastic sheets and all five prayers behind the first ten.

Scholastic orders a

Hi Seventh Grade!

I've missed you! Yes, your Prayer Books are due tomorrow. For a 100%, here's what I expect (this should not be news to you as this is your 3rd set of prayers due for me already).

1.  A "Takeaway Message" that is 3-5 sentences in length. This is a reflection of the prayer and explains what it means to you or what you got out of it. Please do not write "What I got out of it was..." or " What this prayer means to me is...". That is a babyish surefire way to getting points knocked off.

The takeaway should also not be a general statement such as "This prayer means that God is love and we shuld love Him all the time." You should include specifics about the prayer and its symbols. We think symbolically and discuss deeply in class. Show it in your writing.

2. Meaningful illustrations in color- I know you are not all artists. But EFFORT must show through. For the "Hot Chocolate, prayer, don't just draw a measley cup and that's it. Get deep with it. Make connections and symbols.

3.  Effort- Either it looks like you used the entire 45 minute period and home time to do this, or it looks rushed like you did not care.

4. All five prayers IN THE BINDER, IN THE PLASTIC SLEEVES turned in on time.

On a side note, please review the new notice I placed above "Mrs. B's Bin".

                                                                      STOP!

·        If this is a note for Mrs. B. or something for the office, place it in the bin.
·        If this is late work because you were ABSENT and you are turning it in up to two days after your
absence, fill out the red form and attach it to your work.
·        If this is late work because you were ABSENT and you are turning it in more than two days after your
absence, do not put it in the bin. It’s too late.
·        If this is just late work, do not put it in the bin. It’s late.

 Allowed Items for Bin
·        Office Items
·        Notes for Mrs. Beadel, including Edline reports stating mistakes
·        Absent work no more than two days after your return

Items NOT- Allowed for Bin
·        Late Work
·        Absent work more than two days old
·        Garbage and excuses

THANK YOU!

Here is your topic list to review for tomorrow's test:

- All notes and highlighted material surrounding Chapter 8
- Focus on the four Gospels and their different beginnings
- Be able to place the order of the stories from the infancy narratives in order
- Know your memory verse from John
- Know at least one promised message from God from the Old Testament and how it was fulfilled in the New Testament (You do not need to memorize anything, but you need to be specific in your stories. The following example is not enough and would not count: "The promise from the Old Testament is that a Messiah would come and the New Testament fulfillment is Jesus' birth."

Good Luck!

Now watch the videosbelow and tell me you're not inspired. I leave these as both the ending to Chapter 8 and the beginning for the REST of the year. Amen.
